What I’ve LearnedBy Trillia Newbell | January 3rd, 2012 | Category: Uncategorized | 1 Comment »
When I thought about starting an online ezine for women, about women and with the emphasis on Christ and Christian living I knew I was in for a treat. What I didn’t anticipate was how much I would learn. There are so many ministries, books, churches, and companies doing great things for the glory of God. It can be easy to assume from the headlines and the various bloggers that all is lost, there is no grace in today’s church. People make up the church and because of Jesus Christ and his great sacrifice and because he is interceding now for His own, because God promises to give grace, there is indeed good happening in our midst.
God’s grace is evident in the work of Carolyn McCulley and the grassroots efforts to bring to light stories via film and Citygate Films. What about the couple who struggled through adversity, adultery yet have reconciled? Can we find God’s good work in a life devoted to Him and a desire to live intentionally? Absolutely!
What about in your life? Where do you see God working? If you are a Christian, God has good things for you (2Cor 9:8). God is for you (Rom 8:31). As a matter of fact, God’s word says He will not forsake you. “For the LORD will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you a people for himself” (1 Samuel 12:22). God delights in us because He delights in Himself. He desires to do good to us because of His own name sake. This is good news! To deny that God is working, to claim He isn’t active, is to deny that God is God and is to say that His Word isn’t true. God is working all things together for the good of those who love him (Rom 8:28).
My desire is that WOG would highlight these great things of God. That you would read it and know that Jesus is living and active! There will be times when we will wrestle together with hard things. There are times when we will simply sit back and enjoy a good dish. Whatever it is we do, let’s do it with God at the forefront of our minds and His sweet grace in our hearts.
I pray that you and I would know more of God in every way in 2012 and look forward to a year of sharing with you.
(p.s. The January/February “issue” is almost complete! Look around for the article that have already been published. More to come.)
