Book Review: 90 Days of God’s Goodness by Randy Alcorn

The saying goes, if you live long enough you will surely suffer. Suffering and various trials are a part of the Christian walk. Christian author and ministry director, Randy Alcorn knows this all too well. Alcorn shares his insight and biblical wisdom on suffering and God’s Word through a 90 day devotional book, 90 Days of God’s Goodness.

Alcorn begins each day with a scripture reference. He then expounds on the Word about God’s character, His grace, and how we can apply God’s Word in our lives.  He ends each devotional with an original prayer related to the topic. Some of the devotional topics range from our refuge and strength, to God’s gifts. His final chapters focus on Jesus, where Alcorn also challenges the reader to study the life of Christ.

These devotionals are rich in truth that will stir you to know God more and challenge you to trust Him. Alcorn doesn’t simply share his opinion and experience, rather he researched applicable stories and gives great illustrations and examples to get to the heart of what God is saying in each verse, each day. This is a devotional I plan to refer to often.
