Growing together, little by little

girl with book on headBy Trillia Newbell

The other day I was having a conversation with one of my pastors. He began to share about what he was learning from reading Old Testament prophecy. I believe I just kind of starred at him blankly. He was passionately sharing and I only wish I could engage but I was clueless to what he was talking about. I loved it! I’ve found myself in that situation a lot lately. The more I read and the more I learn, the more I realize just how much I don’t know. It’s fun to think that we will never fully understand, fully know, fully exhaust all there is to know about God through His Word.

WOG aims to take the little that we know and put it on paper via the life we experience. There’s much to learn about God in His Word and he will often use experiences like, adopting an orphan to teach us about His great love. He might give us opportunities to learn patience while doing everyday things like cooking. Maybe God is teaching us to mortify sin, by His grace, through interactions with others. But at times, God wants us to dig deeper and learn more about Him through His Word and he may have others teach us through various books.

With our little we can proclaim big, explore immensely  and magnify our Great God! We don’t have to know it all, but we do need to be learning, and we are. My hope is that you are enjoying getting to know the Lord in your life experiences too. My prayer is that God would meet you where you need comfort, encourage you when you’re weary, and illuminate His Word to you as you sit to read it.

Thank you once again for reading Women of God Magazine.

In Grace,

“And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:1-2 ESV)
