He Paid it All

By Trillia Newbell

“Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe; my sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow”

What’s been on your mind today? Did you yell at your kids, yet again? Are you and your husband at odds with each other and peace does not seem to be near? Did you forget to do that project?  If you are like me, there can be times when you are more aware of your shortcomings and failures than the grace of God. I was thinking of this line by Elvina M. Hall:  “Jesus paid it all” and was once again brought to a place of peace. The week has just begun, but I know it will be filled with shortcomings and times where I’ll need to apologize. I’m certain that I’ll be angry at some point and I’m sure I will fear.

But, “I hear the Savior say, ‘Thy strength indeed is small, child of weakness watch and pray, find in me thine all and all.’” So when I come to that place when I’m faced once again with my weaknesses, my failed strength, my sins, I can remember, “Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe; my sin had left a crimson stain he washed it white as snow.”

“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (Psalm 34:8 ESV)

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 ESV).
